Metallics in bright colours

'Exceptionally shimmering and bright metallic effects'

Sparkle and glitter in colourful CMYK and PMS metallics!
If you are looking to add an extra dimension to the appearance of packaging or a label, it is worth looking at the effects of printed colourful and bright metallics. When it comes to metallic colours most people immediately think of the classic metal colours such as gold, silver, bronze and copper, but nowadays it is also possible to create bright, more distinct (less natural) colours. For example, think of CMYK and PMS metallic colours. The demand for bright metallic colours is growing. The powder used to achieve the sparkling metallic effect contains small particles which reflect the light. It creates a special and festive sparkle that consumers love. It makes the packaging come to life.

How do we print colourful bright metallics?
We use Sparkling Mineral Powder (SMP) to print colourful bright metallics. This durable metallic powder is attached to paper or cardboard by means of a very thin “glue layer”. SMP can be printed in all kinds of colours and in different levels of coverage.

How many different metallic colours can we print?
Actually, the possibilities are endless. Colourful bright metallic effects can be printed in CMYK and PMS. Bright metallic pastels are also possible and you can play with different levels of coverage. This makes it possible to print special effects. With semi-transparent coverage, the colour of the paper or cardboard comes into play.

Can the metallic effect be printed on paper and cardboard?
Yes, we can print all metallic tones on paper and cardboard.

Is metallic printing durable?
Yes, Sparkling Mineral Powder (SMP), which we use to achieve the metallic effect, is durable, free of heavy metals, and recyclable! This mineral-based powder creates many pearlescent glitter effects, but are essentially metal-free. It is suitable for labels and packaging in the food industry.

Is the metallic print effect suitable for labels and packaging?
Special print effects such as colourful bright metallics are suitable for almost all labels and packaging. Whether it is used all-over or just in the details of the design, it will add value to the label or packaging.

Does the metallic effect combine well with other print effects?
On its own, Sparkling Mineral Powder (SMP), with which the metallic effect is achieved, provides a sparkling and festive look. Nevertheless, in practice we see that customers like to combine various printing techniques. SMP combines very well with embossing, lacquering and foil.
